The most common cause of roof stains is an algae called Gloeocapsa magma, which can be found on 80 percent of asphalt roofs throughout the United States. This algae is only one of several microorganisms that thrive on asphalt roofs. Over time, algae, fungus, mold and mildew can eat away at the substrate of the tiles, loosening the granules, and dramatically shortening the life of the tile. Your "30-year" roof might not even last 10 years without corrective cleaning.

Non-Pressure Roof Cleaning and Stain Removal

Pressure cleaning is the absolute worst thing you can do to a roof! It loosens the granules and practically guarantees that your roof will fail prematurely.

Instead of destructive pressure washing, we use a non-pressure method and a non-polluting detergent product that removes unsightly, unhealthful, and destructive mold, mildew, algae, fungus, and stains in a gentle, effective way that will not harm your roof.

The products we use do not contain chlorine or sodium hydroxide, as most other roof cleaning products do; and they will not harm the roof nor kill surrounding vegetation.
